KISS Postpone Salt Lake City Show Due to Gene Simmons Medical Procedure

KISS bassist/singer Gene Simmons announced on Friday that the legendary band’s scheduled show at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City on Saturday night (Sept. 14) would be postponed due to a medical emergency. “Apologies to the fans in Salt Lake City.

We will come back and do the show at a later date,” wrote Simmons of the show that was to be their final U.S. gig before the start of a November swing in Australia. “The truth is, I have to fly to LA to do a medical procedure. Nothing serious. But it must be taken care of now. Thank you for your good wishes. All is well.”

KISS is in the midst of their End of the Road world tour, which the greasepaint rockers have said will be their final outing. A spokesperson for KISS could not be reached for comment at press time for further information on Simmons’ condition.

The band postponed shows in Oakland and Los Angeles earlier this month, moving the original Sept. 16 Oakland Arena date to March 6 and the Sept. 20 Staples Center date in Los Angeles to March 4 after what were described as “unforeseen scheduling issues.”
